Immunized With A Gramophone Needle

67 year old Aloysius does what he does best: camps it up. Amid a swathe of amusing anecdotes about his life, this well-known member of Sydney’s queer community shows off his wardrobe, his sense of humour and his heart.

This non-explicit film paints a personality portrait of an older queer man. Faced with the spectre of ageing, Aloysius decided to share himself with the camera. This mini documentary encompasses growing up, coming out, religious influences, issues of identity and fluidity, and death, amid flourishes of Aloysius’ inimitable style. Society still denies older people their sexuality; this film aims to shed some light on an otherwise taboo topic.
